How long it takes: 5 minutes Equipment you’ll need: cocktail shaker or small jar, muddler, fine mesh sieve Servings: 1 (it’s easy to make more!) Most recipes for wine spritzers have only two ingredients: an inexpensive wine and a carbonated mixer of some sort. They aren’t super sweet and are somewhat similar to a hard seltzer. A homemade wine spritzer is one of my go-to “cocktails” because it’s refreshing and so, so easy. If you’re searching for a cocktail recipe that’s exciting, beautiful to behold, and oh so delicious, try this rosé spritzer. It’s not just a summertime patio kind of drink although it would be perfect for that, too. The addition of vodka and fresh raspberries elevate it to true cocktail status. And it’s so, so good!
Serving Suggestions
Serve rosé spritzers with a little something to nibble on, like oil roasted almonds, candied bacon, or beet bruschetta with orange tarragon goat cheese. If you’re serving it to your Valentine, raspberry cheesecake yogurt dip would be perfect. If you want a super easy and very impressive dessert to serve that goes well with this cocktail, try a no bake chocolate tart. This light and easy cocktail is perfect for brunches, too. How To Make a rosé Cocktail
You can easily whip up this cocktail in five minutes. You won’t need a blender or anything fancy. Combine raspberries, jam, and mint. Muddle (lightly smash together) these three ingredients in a small bowl, jar, or cocktail shaker. If you have a muddler, great! If you don’t, simply use the end of a wooden spoon. Make cocktail. Stir in a shot of vodka, then strain the mixture into a lovely stemmed glass. Top the raspberry “purée” with chilled sparkling rose and serve! A garnish of fresh raspberries or a mint leaf is beautiful. Tiny heart sprinkles are fun for Valentine’s Day.
Ingredient Notes
Fresh Raspberries: You’ll only need 4 or 5 raspberries for this recipe. Raspberry Jam or Preserves: Bonne Maman is one of my favorite brands. Seedless jam is probably the best choice. Fresh Mint Leaves: The leaves are lightly muddled to add subtle mint flavor to the cocktail. Save some to garnish the cocktail, too. (If you need a use for your leftover mint leaves, try this quinoa chickpea salad or marinated lamb chops.) Vodka: Use your favorite brand. Since you’re mixing with other ingredients, I recommend a mid-range vodka. Titos is my go-to for most mixed drinks. Sparkling Rosé: Sweet or dry, that’s your call! Pick what you like to drink on its own and it will be perfect in this drink.
Recipe Variations
There are a few ways to change up this cocktail. Here are a few ideas:
Substitutes for sparkling rosé. If you don’t have sparkling rosé, have no fear. Use a regular rosé wine and add club soda in a 50/50 mix. Or you could use a sparkling white wine (like champagne or prosecco). Your cocktail will be a bit lighter in color. Try a different jam/berry combo. Strawberry jam with fresh strawberries would be great, or blackberry jam with fresh blackberries, or cherry jam with fresh cherries, or … you get the idea. Make it lower in alcohol. For a lighter cocktail, omit the vodka.
Make-Ahead Ideas
Quite honestly, this cocktail is best made right before you serve it. Check that you have everything you need, wash the raspberries, and chill all the ingredients. It only takes about five minutes to prepare each drink. Quick-Start Guide!
