This is a no-cook recipe that takes just a few minutes to make. It tastes tangy, spicy, sweet, salty - all at the same time. Perfect to serve as an appetizer to an Indian meal or as a light snack.

About the Recipe

I love street food and I also love recreating those recipes right at home. Some of my favorite Indian street foods are ragda pattice or this Andhra pidatha kinda pappu. Today I have an Indian street food that is spicy, crunchy and very addictive made using raw or unripe mango. Summer equals delicious fresh mangoes to me and this Indian raw mango salad is a great treat to enjoy in the warm weather. This recipe is inspired from a chaat that we ate at Chai Pani restaurant in Asheville, North Carolina. They serve amazing Indian street food, probably the best I have eaten outside of India. Their mango chaat tastes phenomenal and I absolutely loved it. So I came back home and recreated this dish. I think I did a good job at it, if I can say so myself. This raw mango chat has everything that you crave for - crunch, tang, sweet, spice and salty. Homemade or store bought green chutney acts as a salad dressing and brings all the flavors together and balances them beautifully. Try this addicting and delicious recipe, I am sure you will LOVE it as much as we do.
